Wear sensible shoes and layers. Cellars can be cool and we may walk through the vines.
Each visit last between 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. and is conducted by an English speaking guide in the chateaux.
The visits cover the vines, grape varieties, wine making and end with a tasting of several wines.
It is not the custom to tip chateaux guides. But a little something for your driver guide is a nice gesture!

11:00 am

For your fist visit we are heading to Fronsac. A lesser known but historical appellation on the edge of the Dordogne River. This château was built in the mid 1700s by a lawyer at the Parliament of Paris, and a Civil and Criminal Judge. Shortly after its construction, Maria Josepha of Saxony, the Dauphine of France (the wife of Louis-Ferdinand of France, who, as the son of Louis XV, was the Dauphin), and mother of several of the last Kings of France (including Louis XVI) stayed at the château for a few days. This event contributed to the property's reputation, which was named in memory of the Princess’s visit. You will discover all there is to know about biodynamic wines. Following the visit we will taste 3 of the properties wines.

12:30 pm

Meet the winemaker. Courageous or crazy? You decide. You will have the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with an owner of a small property in the heart of the Fronsac appellation. You will hear the story of how this winemaker started in wine. Now's the time to ask all the questions you have always wanted to know about buying a winery, making and selling wine. You will have lunch on the terrace overlooking the vines among the rolling hills (or in the cellars in inclement weather).

02:30 pm

You last visit is a spectacular property high atop a hill with plunging views of the Dordogne river below. Discover the labyrinth of underground cellars, a highlight, and 20 acres of caves, wind your way through 700 000 bottles of ageing wines. The visit ends with a tasting of 3 wines.
